Anonymous asked: What is Shotos honest opinion of Hawks?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I don't trust him." that's the most honest opinion he can give without being outright rude or insulting. He doesn't hate him. That would be too much, but he doesn't like him either. And if someone asked him why he doesn't trust him: "Everything about him is fake."

there is something unique and deeply special about monkey d luffy as a protagonist. he’s overwhelmingly ADORED by the fandom. he’s consistently the most or at least top 3 most popular characters in the whole series. peoples takes about him are gushingly positive. and that’s… really uncommon.
a LOT of fandoms i’ve witnessed or been in have a tendency to favor characters other than the main character. especially in anime. the main characters are often written as a blank slate for readers/watchers to project onto, but that makes them not as interesting and so they don’t get the fan attention.
but luffy is so far from that. and he’s ALWAYS been this way. we love him so much. he’s the heart of the story and the heart of the fandom in every single way. and i think that speaks to how well-written he is as a character. he’s fun and charming and complex and interesting and he makes us laugh and cry and cheer and hope and love. he’s able to inspire so much joy in people, both in his world but also in this one. and i think that’s really special. i feel so grateful to have found this story that means so much to me, and i’m so grateful that luffy exists.

"dude its not that embarassing to rewatch some creepypasta stuff you liked as a teenager" the character i imprinted on like a baby duck at 16 was a demon from new jersey that acts like the humanization of every offspring song and canonically listens to scissor sisters. His favorite color is purple and his favorite pokemon are gengar and haunter. His favorite candy is reeses cups. He leaves people notes with emojis on them. He acts like a beetlejuice scare actor at halloween horror nights. His catchphrase is "feeling sassy?" Hes (allegedly) worked with every war criminal throughout history and been every serial killer. even the gay ones. He ate a baby. His animal motif is a rabbit. Hes kind of based off the donnie darko rabbit. He almost exclusively wears merchandise of the quentin tarantino movie death proof. He talks to his cats in a baby voice. He wears a white fedora that makes every video he wears it in feel dated by like 7 years. Hes 5'3. Sometimes he barks like a dog. Hes from new jersey. He hacked a girls tumblr blog so he could post about how awesome he is. He added a laugh track over a video of him killing people. He named a chainsaw rex. He torments people by playing frank sinatra at them. His name comes from an animal collective song. His creator drew his "true form" as a giant buff wolf bug anthro. Theres a (semi)canon blog entry where he makes the speakers blare rob zombie before he enters a room, then holds a guy at gunpoint to describe what he did to to him while "making sure to leave in all the cool parts". The guy hes possessing has radioactive blood. He tried for 2 whole minutes to pick up a bottle of ketchup with a grabby hand. Hes kind of suicidal. He can be reasonably compared to pretty much every major tumblr sexyman. His actor has gone on record saying heath ledgers joker inspired his acting choices. His creators were too attached to him to permanently kill him at the end of the series. Sometimes his voice gets distorted and it makes him sound like bill ciphers first year on HRT. Hes basically like my artistic muse. For some fucking reason i associate the song cake by the ocean with him. I firmly believe that if everymanhybrid didn't require a masters degree in creepypasta autism to comprehend, he would've caused more teenage stabbings than the slenderman incident and more kin war tumblr scenarios than nagito komaeda.

I keep thinking about Arthur's regression at the end of Season 2 and then into Season 3. I keep thinking about how victims of trauma tend to get worse once they escape their traumatic situation. How their body and mind start to crack and shake under the weight of the horrors, now safe enough to escape the survivorship mindset but now forced to endure the fallout.
I keep thinking of how hard Faroe's death hit Arthur. How his guilt and grief were so intense that he wanted to kill himself, so low that he drank himself into a stupor for who knows how many years to just dull the pain. I keep imagining how hard it was to pull himself out of that, to work with Parker and find a new meaning in life, to walk away from his guilt of killing his daughter, and instead to help people.
(I keep thinking of how Arthur finds a vial of alcohol in the Dreamlands. How he sniffs it and recoils in disgust.)
I keep thinking of how long it took for Arthur to build himself back up from his lowest point, to tuck the guilt of Faroe in the deepest corner of his mind just so that he has enough room to breathe, to live, to be a better person. (And yet, Faroe is every facet of his life. It's his first memory in Season One, when he plays Faroe's Song, when he doesn't even remember his own name. It's the last name on his lips when he dies on that boat. It's his only memory when John is torn away from him.) I keep thinking about how Arthur is consciously repressing her every second of every day just so that he can keep going.
And then John pushes, and asks, and asks again. And finally, after almost dying twice with this entity, after surviving time and time again, he thinks he can trust him. He thinks he can share his deepest secret, to pull open the wound he keeps stitching over to protect himself. How he risks feeling the grief he's suppressed for years to trust someone. I keep thinking how John seizes it and, because he is ancient and young and inexperienced, childlike in his tantrums and his fears of responsibility and consequence, he uses it as a weapon the moment he's backed into a corner. I keep thinking of how not only the trust is torn away from Arthur, but how his wound is stretched and torn, and not only does his guilt and grief come back, but it's like a tidal wave that he cannot suppress this time. He's opened that wound and John has pried it wider, and now Arthur can't shut it. He survives in those pits, but she is all he thinks of. He escapes those pits, and ("Goodbye, Faroe.") she is all he thinks of. He slits his throat and she's all he thinks of.
He enters at icy cabin (a small gurgle, a bundle of blankets in his arm, a warm hum rumbling in his chest as he lulls his whole World to sleep) and he thinks of her to keep going.
And then Yellow enters, a blank slate, a John before he was John, and the pain is too fresh. This is the thing that tortured him. This is the thing that starved him. This is the thing who asked who his daughter was, and when he told him, the thing called him a killer. John and Yellow and the King are all the same in that moment, and Arthur's too fucked up and traumatized to separate them tangibly, as much as he insists that he can. His hatred grows and grows, all from himself, until it bleeds into Yellow, and he remakes this entity in his image, in his self-pitying hatred.
So when Yellow finally calls him a monster (and Arthur knows, he's called himself that the moment he saw the water spill from the bathtub onto the tile below), Arthur holds it close to his chest, and becomes it.

One other reason why I'm more inclined toward Buck & Tommy? They understand each other's line of work, but they are NOT working in the same firehouse. They WON'T be constantly attached to the hips all day at work and outside of work. Just like Hen, Bobby and Chimney do have their significant others outside the 118 firehouse, I would prefer for Buck to have a significant other outside the 118 firehouse, too. Remember how Hen basically said Buck doesn't have anyone outside the 118? That's a potential difference and improvement Tommy could make for Buck.

This blog will not RP with 'writers' who use AI.
This goes for anything about your blog by the way. Not just writing, but icons, graphics, anything having to do with your blog. Even if you're not transparent about it and think that the AI is 'so good nobody will notice', people will find out, we always do.
This is a creative hobby. Most rational people will understand that not everyone can have fancy graphics & icons, but that doesn't mean you have a machine pull from 100,000+ stolen & scraped pieces of art & other images from multiple unknowing creatives to cobble something together to supposedly make your blog look 'nicer'.
Either make your own icons / graphics, and/or commission someone to make them for you. There's also plenty of free templates for you to check out that take less effort to find than feeding a prompt that's currently responsible for making life harder for creatives such as us. End of.

When any of my friends get diagnosed officially with autism, I watch them go gradually from one phase to the next regards Empathy.
The first phase is the: 'Oh, no, I don't have empathy, I can't interpret feelings very well you see. I always found it difficult, and now I know that I dont understand feelings very well' phase.
Which theyve been taught via the process of trying to get diagnosed. Its a topic used a lot to identify autism and used in many diagnosis tools.
Then eventually, once they've been diagnosed, and so have the freedom to fully explore themselves without holding up their differences through the lense of specific criterias needed to get a diagnosis, they start to go through the next phase:
'But it is kinda strange....because I do feel things a lot. And I understand other peoples feelings. In fact I feel like I feel emotions more intensely than other people. But I just get misinterpreted a lot, because its like we communicate differently...'
And then they get to that final conclusion:
'OH, I do have empathy. I have a lot of empathy. I recognise feelings very well. Its just that Im not speaking the NT language, and they aren't speaking mine. So Im in a world where the feelings get lost in translation'
I observe this a lot because from an outsider pov, its very easy to see that your friends have empathy and feelings, even if they've convinced themselves during the 'Im autistic' realisation that they dont. And Ive been through this myself, many years ago. You know you're different/autistic, and try to squeeze into the specifics set up for a diagnosis criteria originally made by NTs

Though I see no world in which Carpenter performs any amount of femininity, I don't really consider her to be butch because for me butch is a gender identity beyond simply "masculine woman" and frankly I think Carpenter couldn't be fucked about all that. Hayward is butch though. The great tragedy of his ending is that Paige didn't have enough time to get her ass on estrogen

looking through my old stuff that I never posted and was absolutely GUTTED by this bit I wrote about Maul
"You dared to follow the contours of his face even further where you found he had a literal crown of horns. How befitting. A creature so divine, hosting a physical crown to solidify their own majesty in whatever system they deemed so worthy."

What if I wrote an MHA reader insert isekai fic tho
What if? You tried to subvert their fate? Tried to prevent the war arc?
No ships most likely, although I might make it ambiguous so you can interpret it as such?
Would ppl read that?
(also fully gender neutral bc I'm tired of reader inserts always being female 😭😭 makes me dysphoric)
Edit: I'd appreciate a reblog for sample size but also you don't have to lol
(I am writing a snippet of this rn to test it)

Something I didn't expect that I've noticed since I started reading SAO is that Kawahara is constantly trying to actually say something when writing this series and that he's a lot more left-leaning than I would've thought before I actually started diving into any of this. Like, look at this incredibly important bit from the Alicization epilogue.
Tumblr media
Or this bit from Moon Cradle.
Tumblr media
When I was showing my girlfriend these bits, her reaction was rather succinct and kinda mirrors my general thoughts.
Tumblr media
Like, when I started this series, I kinda expected it to be some kinda okay VR isekai slop, and that's definitely how it started, but the deeper in I've gone, the more I've found that this series wants to say. I've already posted about the scene at the end of The Safe Haven Incident where Kirito and Asuna literally turn to the camera and say "women aren't your fucking property," but there's also stuff like the surprisingly genuine attempt at depicting Kirito's and Sinon's PTSD in Phantom Bullet, the attempt to show how Yuuki still deserves to live a fulfilling life despite her terminal illness in Mother's Rosario (and the fact that it's specifically AIDS in particular feels rather bold), literally saying outright that unjust laws shouldn't be followed in the first half of Alicization, literally depicting a straight up tyrannical fascist cult in that same arc (and really feeling like it hits what makes cults so fucking sinister), even going so far as to dismantle the fucked up concept of a truly "evil" race in the back half of Alicization, and I haven't even started Unital Ring yet. There's also probably more that's slipping my mind. Even the sexual assaults, as uncomfortable and excessive and truly unnecessary as they are, are depicted as horrifically as they should be. There's no lingering on anything for pleasure or attempts to play it for comedy, and the perpetrator always gets their fucking shit kicked in afterwards, sometimes even To Death (with the exception of Yanai, who initially gets away with it until karma catches up in Alicization). Kawahara may be clumsy, heavy-handed, and still a little more misogynistic than I think he realizes (though he's clearly been improving there over the years), but he seems to almost always be sincere and well-meaning in the things he writes. It honestly kinda makes me sad that this series has the reputation it does.

To me Adler signalis is just genuinely oblivious to what the rest of sierpinski staff thinks about him. He’s just that kinda guy to me, easily bored, focused on his own things and just vibin while the kolibris talk shit about him
